Simple Things

Life. Love. Happiness. Some of the greatest moments in life happen when you least expect it and in the simplest of ways. A look, a laugh, a touch, or a kiss. The beauty and serenity of the ocean, sunsets, lush green forests, snowfall surrounded by mountains, or leaves changing in fall. Laughing with friends, the unconditional love of family, or falling head over heels in love. It's the "Simple Things" that give you joy and make your heart full.

"It's your touch, it's your love, that smile, those eyes // it's the simple things."

"Simple Things" has always been a very special song to me. I wrote the song during a weekend at the beach. I first recorded an acoustic, demo version in New York City, NY at Platinum Sound Studios.

Years later, I brought the song to Los Angeles, CA where my producer, Warren Huart, and I brought the song to life. I recorded "Simple Things"at Spitfire Studio and Sunset Sound Recorders in Los Angeles.

"I just want you and all the simple things you do // that make me love you."

We started by laying down acoustic guitar, vocals, and some electric guitar. At Sunset Sound, Blair Sinta added some awesome percussion and Jon Button added killer bass to give the song great feeling. Back at Spitfire Studios, I added background vocals and Warren Huart and Eric Gonzalez, assistant mixing engineer, layered and mixed the track. The final cut was then mastered by Lurssen Mastering.

"Simple Things," was written and recorded to be just that, simple. It is a very organic, real song that gives you all the feels and emphasizes the simple things in life that make everyday so beautiful.

"You make me love you."

"Simple Things" is one of the most beautiful songs lyrically and musically. It gives me chills when I listen and will always be one of my favorite songs to perform!
